Secure client portal: receive documents from your clients without email

No more lost email attachments. The client portal lets your clients upload their documents via a secure link, straight into your workspace.

The problem with email attachments

Email-based document collection is the inefficient process of receiving client documents via attachments scattered across multiple email threads, without tracking or centralisation. Email was never designed for structured document collection. No tracking, no delivery confirmation, no centralisation. The client never knows if their file actually arrived.

Documents end up scattered across your inbox: a contract here, a statement there, a scan buried in a 47-message thread. Good luck reconstructing the file.

And the security issues: an email forwarded by mistake, an attachment sitting on an external server, a WeTransfer link that expires without warning.

  • Attachments lost in endless email threads
  • No tracking: the client doesn't know if their file arrived
  • Email size limits block heavy documents
  • Leak risk: forwarded emails, uncontrolled third-party servers

One link, one upload, zero friction

The client portal is a secure upload space accessible via a unique link, allowing a client to submit documents by drag and drop without signup or password. With the Avocachet client portal, you create this space in one click and send the link to your client.

Each uploaded document is immediately stored in your secure workspace. You get a notification in your daily digest. The client sees their uploads listed with a visual confirmation.

No more follow-ups. No more digging through emails. Everything is centralised, timestamped, and accessible in one click from your dashboard.

  • Unique link per case: one portal = one client or one matter
  • Upload without signup or password for the client
  • Instant visual confirmation for the client
  • Daily digest for the lawyer
Client portal workflow: lawyer creates portal, sends link to client, client uploads documents, lawyer receives notification
The client portal in 3 steps: create, share the link, receive documents.

The workflow in practice

You open your dashboard, click "Create a portal". You name it ("Smith Case - Divorce") and optionally set an expiry date.

Avocachet generates a secure link. You copy it and send it to your client by email, text or messenger. The client clicks, lands on a clean page with the upload zone.

They drag in their files, see the confirmation. You find the documents in your portal, ready to be downloaded, stamped and added to the exhibit list.

  • Created in 10 seconds from the dashboard
  • One-click copyable link, shareable via any channel
  • Documents ready to stamp upon receipt

Security and control

The portal token is a unique, non-guessable identifier that protects access to the upload space: without the full link containing this token, nobody can access the portal. Documents are stored in an encrypted private space, separate from public files.

You keep full control: enable or disable a portal at any time. Set an expiry date for temporary collections. Delete documents when the case is closed.

The portal is GDPR-compliant: no client account created, no personal data stored beyond the strict minimum, deletion available at any time.

  • Unique token: access only via the full link
  • Private and encrypted storage
  • Configurable activation/deactivation and expiry
  • GDPR-compliant: no client account created
Client portal security architecture: unique token access, encrypted private storage and GDPR compliance with data minimization principle
Unique token, encrypted storage and zero superfluous personal data.

Modernise your document collection

The client portal is not a gimmick. It's a measurable time-saver for you and a far simpler experience for your clients.

A client who can upload their documents in 30 seconds is a client who sends them faster. And a complete file sooner means a case that moves forward.
